Abstract

History and Objectives: Due to significance of detection of clinical signs and discrepancies in the clinical symptoms of cerebrovascular accidents, this study was undertaken at the Shaheed Beheshti hospital of Kashan in 1994. Materials and Methods: A descriptive study was conducted on 175 patients suffering from cerebrovascular incidences diagnosed on the bases of clinical examination and CT scan. Patients records containing age, sex, clinical signs and the condition that the patient were released from the hospital were recorded and proper tables were prepared. On the basis of clinical signs, confidence interval in the population was obtained. Results: From 175 patients, 52 were male and 48 female. 37.7 suffered from cerebrovascular infarction (Bleeding type) and 62.3 were suffering from infarction type. Hemiplegia and hemiparesis (54.9, CI=47.5-62.3) and reduced level of consciousness (42.3, CI=35-49.7) were the most prevalent signs. Conclusion: Due to the significant of proper detection in the prediction of cerebrovascular incidences, hemiplegia, hemiparesis and reduced level of consciousness ought to be noted. Inability of patients in short term as well as long-term duration should be considered in conducting further research.
